
Professor TECER, Marine Environment Coordinator of the ZEWSGES project, listed the project’s expected results in monitoring and reducing marine litter as follows:
• Promote the implementation of marine litter legislation in line with EU legislation,
• Reduce garbage on sea beaches and seas,
• Improve the attitude of residents and tourists to marine litter,
• Introduce garbage monitoring programs,
• Identify sources of marine pollution,
• Identify seasonal changes and annual trends in marine litter,
• Protect the ecosystem and promote the achievement of regional “Environment Ecology Status” and, consequently, ensuring the sustainability of a high quality of life.
